**Social Work Interns at the Downers Grove Public Library provide brief visits for information and referral services only. Appointments do not establish a client/social worker relationship. Appointments are limited to 20-minute consultations and are free of charge. Social Work Interns can not become a personal social worker.
HOW CAN WE HELP?
Social Work Interns
DGPL has partnered with Aurora University's School of Social Work to host interns at the library. Interns at the library receive credit for their work at the library.
Social Work Interns are available for patrons to meet with for 20-minute consultations to help refer patrons to services. To meet with a Social Work Intern, submit an assessment form.
** Forms are available at the second floor Adult and Teen Services Desk.
Resources
The library has created a variety of social service resources, including brochures to help patrons find what they need. Handouts are available outside of Social Work Intern office hours; appointments are recommended to help identify the most helpful resources.
The Cupboard
The Cupboard is the library's pantry of nonperishable food and toiletry items for those who are housing or food insecure. There are no eligibility requirements or forms; patrons are encouraged to take what they need.
