Honor & Memorial Books

Sending a gift in someone’s memory is the perfect way to remember friends and loved ones or to honor a birthday, graduation, or anniversary. A bookplate inserted inside will name both the individual honored and the donor. Donors may choose a collection subject area or suggest a book (pending staff approval).

If you are interested in underwriting an item, fill out the form below, email AskUs@dglibrary.org, or call 630-960-1200.

Donating Used Items

The library is currently not accepting book donations.

Planned Giving

A planned gift to the Downers Grove Public Library and the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation allows you to create a legacy for our community as you support our library, while meeting your own financial and personal objectives.

Wills and Living Trusts
Simple to arrange, offer flexibility, and can reduce estate taxes.

Life Income Plans
Donate cash, securities, or other property and retain lifetime payments for yourself or loved ones.

Retirement Plan Assets
Donate some or all of the assets from your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement plan. Gifts can be made during your lifetime or upon death.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Double or even triple your gift by asking your employer to match your charitable contribution. Some companies require a form to be completed, while others have automated programs that require only a phone call.

Other Gift Options
The library welcomes contributions of appreciated assets such as securities, life insurance, U.S. saving bonds, annuity contracts, and personal property like real estate.

Monetary donations

Monetary donations can be given to the library at the Checkout Desk in the lobby, or in the Administration office. All donations help fulfill the library's purpose statement of ensuring that DGPL is a place for everyone to Discover, Grow, Play, and Learn.
