Summer is in full swing! Just as exciting, the process of creating a road map for the library’s future is also in full swing.
As you’ve heard, we’re hard at work on an all-encompassing plan that will guide our services, reinvest in building and equipment needs, and fund these strategies for the future. Here’s where we’re at:
One Page Strategic Plan: Complete!
On May 24, the Board of Trustees approved the Values, Purpose, Core Services, and Strategic Focus, as drafted by the library’s management team. It lays out the fundamentals of why the library is here, what we do, and how we do it. The one page “short version” is now under development to add goals, objectives, and action steps listing specifically what we’ll set out to dofor the next few years. Measurable results and timelines for completion will also be included.
Facilities Assessment: In process
Looking ahead to capital needs, Product Architecture + Design began evaluating the building and its mechanical systems. Their report will outline a 20-year-plan to sustain the building.
Long-Range Budget: Coming soon
The Strategic Plan and the Facilities Assessment will feed into a Long-Range Budget. Once drafted, this piece will guide future funding to ensure services and capital replenishment can be met.
These pieces, all rolled together into a Full Strategic Plan, are expected to go before the Board of Trustees at their July 26 meeting. The complete plan will also list background information, steps in the process, community feedback, and evaluation components.
