In May, our second group of Girls Who Code participants wrap up a successful semester of introductory coding. Taught by Exelon Senior Software Developer Radhi Reddy, 18 girls completed 20 weeks of beginner computer science instruction.
In addition to coding curriculum, the girls took a field trip to Argonne National Laboratory for a tour of the facilities and a chance to program robots. They also met guest speaker Gabrielle Crevecoeur, a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft, who encouraged seeking out a variety of technological experiences (like Girls Who Code) to see what they’re good at and what they enjoy.
See the club in action at www.facebook.com/DGlibrary. And join us as we celebrate the completion of their classes on Wednesday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m. Club members will present the web apps they created. Reserve your spot at today!
